On September 5, the Kyoto City Tourism Association will begin selling paid admission tickets to the Jidai Matsuri, one of the “Three Major Festivals of Kyoto,” so that visitors can comfortably watch the festival. In addition, a new type of ticket will be available for front-row seats, which will allow visitors to view the procession up close and personal. A portion of the proceeds will be used for the preservation and succession of the festival.
