JAL has applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for a revision of the applicable amount of the “fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be applied to tickets issued between August 1 and September 30.
The two-month average Singapore kerosene market price for April-May 2023 was $93.12 per barrel. Multiplying this by the average exchange rate of 135.35 yen per dollar for the same period, the yen equivalent of the Singapore kerosene market price is 12,604 yen, and the fuel surcharge applicable to tickets issued from August to September 2023 will be based on 12,000 yen.
