On April 17, JR West announced that its ICOCA IC card ticket will be compatible with Apple Pay by the end of 2023.

The company launched “Mobile ICOCA” on March 22, but this service was for Android smartphones and could not be used on iPhones.

The new Apple Pay compatibility will allow ICOCA to be used on iPhones and Apple Watches.
