JAL has applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for a revision of the applicable amount of the “fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be applied to tickets issued between June 1 and July 31.
The two-month average Singapore kerosene market price for February-March 2023 was $103.03 per barrel. Multiplying this by the average exchange rate of 133.31 yen per dollar for the same period, the yen equivalent of the Singapore kerosene market price would be 13,734 yen, and the fuel surcharge applicable to tickets issued from June to July 2023 would be based on 13,000 yen.
