Ashikaga Flower Park’s Grand Wisteria Festival 2023 starts earlier! Wisteria trellises covering an area of 600 tatami mats will be at their best. Fantastic night wisteria lighting will also be available.

Ashikaga Flower Park (607 Sakoma-cho, Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi Prefecture) is holding a spring festival, “Fuji no Hana Monogatari – Dai Wisteria Festival 2023.

More than 350 wisteria trees are in full bloom in the 100,000 m2 garden, including a 600-mat (1,000 m2) long wisteria trellis of 160-year-old giant purple wisteria trees, an 80-m-long white wisteria tunnel, and a large double-flowered wisteria trellis, a rarity in the world.

The festival will be held from April 12 to May 14, three days earlier than originally scheduled due to the earliest blooming of the giant wisteria in recorded history.

In the park, visitors can enjoy “Oto Gozen,” a special wisteria meal for a limited time only, and wisteria sweets while admiring the colorful flowers, as well as wisteria perfume, hand cream, sweets, and other souvenirs.
