Tokyu’s sightseeing train “THE ROYAL EXPRESS” headed for Shikoku, pulled by JR West/Cargo locomotives

JR West and JR Shikoku will operate Tokyu’s cruise train “THE ROYAL EXPRESS” in the Shikoku and Setouchi areas from January to March 2024. The aim is to promote the tourism resources of the area by operating a cruise train.

As in past Hokkaido operations, the train will be shortened to five cars, coupled with a power supply car, and towed by locomotives from JR West and JR Freight. The course will depart from Okayama and head toward Matsuyama via Takamatsu, and is planned to run six times for four days at a time.
