JAL’s 6,600 yen sale on all domestic routes is expected to resume soon after final testing of the reservation system.

JAL announced that the “JAL Smile Campaign,” a domestic one-way ticket sale for 6,600 yen, which was canceled on the day of the March 9 sale, is expected to resume.

JAL’s website was accessed by approximately 30,000 people per hour during normal times, and the sale was expected to attract 400,000 people during the same period, but the number of accesses more than doubled to 1 million. The company’s own inflow control system temporarily lost functionality, and although it was restored using an external inflow control system, the processing speed of the reservation and ticketing gateway slowed down, resulting in frequent timeouts, and as a result, normal reservations could not be made, leading to the decision to cancel the sale.

The company is currently conducting final testing and expects to announce the sale as soon as it is completed.
