The Japan Weather Association has released its fifth pollen dispersion forecast for spring 2023.
Warmer-than-normal weather has continued since the beginning of March, and large amounts of airborne pollen have been confirmed in many areas. Especially in Kyushu and Tohoku, cedar pollen has reached its peak and is raging, requiring continued vigilance.
Hinoki pollen has already begun dispersing in parts of Kyushu, Chugoku, and Shikoku, and is expected to continue peaking in various areas from late March to mid-April. In eastern Japan, the peak of cedar pollen is expected to continue throughout March, followed by the peak of cypress pollen in Tokyo in late March, earlier than usual.
