ZENRIN’s “47palette” towel handkerchief with one-point embroidery of the topography of the 47 prefectures.

Zenrin has released “47palette,” a towel handkerchief featuring designs of the 47 prefectures of Japan (1,320 yen each) under the Map Design brand, which offers stationery and sundries with map motifs. They are available at Map Design GALLERY’s Kokura and Fukuoka stores, as well as through the online store.

The material used is high quality towels produced in Imabari. The colors are inspired by the local specialties and landmarks of each region, such as lavender in Hokkaido, strawberries in Tochigi, and shachihoko in Aichi, and the topography of each of the 47 prefectures is embroidered in a single point.

The package is also decorated with a map, and the embroidery on the towel handkerchief can be seen through the package. The packaging is also designed to allow the embroidery of a map to be seen through the handkerchief.
