JR East Tohoku Headquarters will conduct test runs of the new Yamagata Shinkansen train, the E8 Series, which will begin commercial operation in the spring of 2024, for about a year starting at the end of February 2023.
In conjunction with this event, the “E8 Series Unveiling! Shinkansen General Rolling Stock Center Photo Shooting Event” will be held on February 24. In addition, one of the E3 Series “Tsubasa” trains currently in operation will be painted in the silver color of its debut in order to enhance the appeal of the Yamagata Shinkansen and promote the line.
