Heavy snow again in Niigata from the night of March 23rd to 25th; NEXCO East Japan urges people to refrain from going out unnecessarily.

NEXCO East Japan Niigata Branch Office is calling for people to refrain from going out unnecessarily this weekend, from the nighttime of December 23 to December 25, as heavy snow is expected in the mountainous areas of Niigata. The company also calls on carriers to cooperate in making wide-area detours and adjusting delivery dates.

The road closures that had been in place since January 18 were lifted on the Hokuriku Expressway, Ban-Etsu Expressway, and Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway at 5:00 a.m. on January 21, and there are currently no roadblocks in place.
