Korean Air Introduces Airbus A321neo. Flat seats, larger baggage storage cabin, etc.

Korean Air will introduce the Airbus A321neo aircraft and begin operations in December.

The seats consist of 8 Prestige (business) class seats and 174 Economy class seats (182 seats in total). In particular, the Prestige class seats are the first 180-degree flat seats in Korea for a narrow-body aircraft with a single aisle. In addition, Airbus’ cabin interior brand “Airspace” was adopted in the cabin for the first time among Asian airlines.

Airspace is said to create a comfortable cabin environment with LED lighting that can be adjusted to suit the flight conditions, larger windshades and baggage storage shelves, and toilets with anti-bacterial coating.

Prestige class seats can be flattened and have a pitch of 160 cm and a width of 48 cm. Personal monitors are 17 inches. In addition, wireless charging of smartphones is available, and the seat table is equipped with a stand for smartphones and tablets.

Economy class seats have a pitch of 79-81 cm and a width of 45 cm, and are equipped with headrests that can be adjusted in various directions. In addition to hangers in each seat, a 13.3-inch personal monitor, 10 cm larger than the previous monitor, is provided.

The A321neo will be used mainly on short-haul routes in Japan, Southeast Asia, and China, with plans to have 30 aircraft by 2027.
