The current “National Travel Support” program with a maximum discount of 8,000 yen has been extended until December 27, 2011 for stays on December 27, 2011.

The Japan Tourism Agency announced that it will extend its current (October 11-December 20) nationwide travel support period to December 27 (including check-out on December 28).

As a result, until December 27, 40% of the travel price (maximum 8,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation, maximum 5,000 yen for other products) will be subsidized, and coupons (3,000 yen for weekdays, 1,000 yen for holidays) for souvenirs and other purchases will also continue to be given.

The Japan Tourism Agency has announced that it will implement measures to stimulate tourism demand by lowering the discount rate after the new year (related article: “Japan Tourism Agency to Continue ‘Nationwide Travel Assistance’ after the New Year.
