ANA launches “ANA Green Jet,” a specially painted aircraft. Uses fuel made from waste cooking oil and animal and vegetable fats

On November 14, ANA began operating a specially painted “ANA Green Jet” aircraft. The aircraft is a Boeing 787-8 (registration code: JA874A) with the theme of “ANA Future Promise,” which aims for a sustainable society.

The aim is to explore the feasibility of reducing CO2 emissions by implementing measures such as the use of technology and in-flight service products. The first such flight, the Haneda-Fukuoka route (NH253), was the first scheduled domestic flight to use SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) produced on a commercial scale.

The SAF used in this project was manufactured by NESTE in Finland and is made from waste cooking oil and animal and vegetable fats.
