Nagasaki Prefecture, together with Saga Prefecture and JR Group, is conducting a major tourism campaign, the “Saga-Nagasaki Destination Campaign. Special autumn-winter-only plans will be offered in response to the opening of the West Kyushu Shinkansen and the excitement generated by the DC.
Sightseeing bus “Buririn”: A tour of dinosaurs and spectacular views from the top of the Onmyoudaihashi Bridge
Departing from the Nagasaki Prefectural Bus Terminal, we will go to the Goddess of Mercy Bridge over Nagasaki Port. Visitors can climb up to the “top” of the main tower, which is normally inaccessible, by means of elevating stairs and ladders, and enjoy the spectacular view from 175 meters above the ground.
For lunch, enjoy a bowl of rice topped with seafood and fried horse mackerel at Ocean Resort NOMON Nagasaki, a restaurant with a view of Gunkanjima. Those who wish can take a bath in the highly concentrated carbonated hot spring at the adjacent “NOMON Yu”.
After lunch, visit the Nagasaki Dinosaur Museum, which opened in October 2021. The museum’s theme is dinosaurs from Nagasaki City, including the first fossil of a large Tyrannosauridae species discovered in Japan, which cannot be found anywhere else.
Departure date is November 26. The trip fee is 10,000 yen, and children must be 5th grade elementary school students or older to participate.
