Shared office space in Tokyo Station renewed with the addition of completely private rooms. Facial recognition verification experiment also conducted.

East Japan Railway Company has reopened STATION DESK Tokyo Marunouchi, a shared office space in Tokyo Station.

Four more completely private rooms will be added to provide more privacy. It is a high-security space similar to STATION BOOTH in the station area, and can be used for web conferencing and intensive work.

In addition, a demonstration experiment will be conducted to test the use of MFPs and refrigerated smart showcases with a face recognition function. Once a facial image is registered, users can print or copy by simply holding their face over a MFP terminal. This eliminates the need to enter user IDs and passwords. Facial recognition is also possible even if the user is wearing a mask. The service will be available free of charge from November 8 to January 31, 2023.
