JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with Sultan Abdurrahman Almashad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, at JICA headquarters on October 21.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Tanaka stated that JICA has always emphasized collaboration with its development partners, including the Saudi Fund for Development, to achieve the SDGs, and will continue to share knowledge and implement collaborative projects to maximize development impact.
In response, CEO Al-Marshad stated that he would like to learn from JICA’s past cooperation and know-how through personnel exchange regarding technical cooperation, etc., which the Saudi Fund for Development plans to focus on in the future.
In addition, both CEO Almashad and President Tanaka discussed the need to focus on and take action in three areas that are pressing issues for the international community: food security, the energy crisis, and climate change.
