Scoot: Pikachu Jet TR goes into service

Scoot launched its “Pikachu Jet TR” on September 9. The aircraft is a 375-seat Boeing 787-9, and the first flight was TR808 from Singapore. The first flight was TR808 from Singapore, and a ceremony and distribution of commemorative gifts were held in front of the gate for TR809, which departed from Narita on the return flight.

The Pikachu Jet is part of the “Sora tobu Pikachu Project,” a partnership between Pokémon Inc. and airlines. Skymark already operates the first and second Pikachu Jets, but this is the first time an LCC has participated in this initiative.

The aircraft has a white base depicting Pikachu, Pichu, Shaymin, Kodak, Laplace, Celebi, and Meganium, with a lively and vibrant design of petals dancing around them. Pokémon are also featured on the overhead compartments for baggage, seat headrest covers, and paper cups and table napkins used for service on the aircraft.

Pikachu, dressed in his pilot’s costume, took pictures with passengers in front of the gate, and also handed out souvenir card holders with lanyard straps and clear files.

The next Singapore-Narita flight (TR808/809), which can be booked in advance, is scheduled for October 19, with fares starting at 17,050 yen one way.
