Emergency Relief Aid for Flood Damage in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

In response to a request from the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for assistance, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide emergency relief supplies as follows

Magnitude of the damage caused

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been suffering from floods caused by intermittent precipitation since mid-June 2022, resulting in extensive human and property damage in the affected areas.

Damage as of August 27 (announced by the National Disaster Management Agency)

Deaths 1,033

Injured 1,527

Evacuees 498,442

Totally destroyed houses 287,412

Houses damaged 949,858

Number of affected people 5,773,063
