Supporting the learning environment for primary education in Morocco

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) of up to 22 billion yen with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat on July 1 for “Development Policy Loan for Improving the Learning Environment of Basic Education”.

This project aims to improve the learning environment for children in Morocco, where local governments and schools lack the know-how and human resources to properly operate schools, by providing development policy support that will lead to the improvement of the basic education system and help correct educational disparities for children within classrooms, between schools, and between households. The project will contribute to the promotion of social development and economic stability in Morocco and contribute to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Goal 4 (Quality education for all) and Goal 10 (Eliminate inequalities among people and countries).
