JR West will begin operating the free passageway and bridge station building at Yamashiro-Aoya Station on the Nara Line on July 23. An elevator will be installed to provide barrier-free access, and the station will be accessible directly from the west side of the tracks. After the opening, the existing station building will be closed, and the adjacent rail bridge will also be taken out of service. The east and west station plazas are scheduled to be developed by Joyo City within this fiscal year.
