ANA to discontinue legacy check-in machines for domestic flights

On May 24, ANA announced in the explanation of its new travel service “ANA Smart Travel,” which is completed via smartphone, that it will gradually discontinue the automatic check-in machines installed at domestic airports in Japan for domestic flights after April 2023.

The SKiP service, a ticketless boarding service using QR codes and IC chips (FeliCa), will also be terminated on March 31, 2023.

However, manned counters will not be eliminated, and users who do not use smartphones will continue to be manned after the discontinuation of the service.
